Geo-Hazards and Disaster

This program aims to improve our understanding of the earth’s natural processes that create or cause a natural phenomenon that is hazardous and disastrous to human society. It also generates knowledge and provide information about the vulnerability to, and impacts of, natural hazards such as earthquake, landslides, tsunami, glacier lakes outbursts, and avalanches to the economy, infrastructure, and society. This group also work in water/coastal engineering and management and geotechnical engineering. The research outcomes of this program help to influence policies and change practices to build a resilient infrastructure and local community.
