GIIS research fellow Suraj Bhattarai participated in a postgraduate training program on ‘Emerging Infections for Clinicians and WHO course on Emerging Diseases Clinical Assessment and Response Network (EDCARN)’ in Florence, Italy on May 11-13, 2019. The training program was organized by the European Society for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases and hosted by the Careggi University Hospitals, Italy. EDCARN is a highly recognized course for those committed to working closely with the World Health Organization (WHO)’s Health Emergencies Unit as well as with the Center for Disease Control (CDC). Suraj was among 25 clinicians selected for this course. He received a scholarship to attend the course.
