The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) organized a Regional Research Grants Workshop on ‘Building Skills for Scientific Research‘ in Kathmandu, Nepal from June 4-6, 2019. GIIS research fellow, Suraj Bhattarai delivered an invited talk during the workshop. In his talk entitled, ‘Importance of Scientific Writing’ he also shared his experience of being a member of the Global Young Academy. Over 40 TWAS Research Grant awardees from Asia and Latin America attended the workshop. The workshop was hosted locally by the GIIS. TWAS provides individual and collaborative research grants to promising scientists from the developing countries with support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the Italian Government, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
