Women smallholder farmers resilience strategies during shocks in the Eastern Tarai farms of Nepal: A feminist political ecology approach

This study aims 1) to assess the impacts of COVID 19 lockdown measures on the livelihoods of smallholder women vegetable farmers, 2) to investigate the existing adaptation practices and supporting mechanisms adopted by the vegetable smallholders to cope during the lockdown, and 3) to examine the role of gender-norms, socio-cultural practices, and gender-interactions to build crisis resilience in the COVID19 pandemic context. This study is funded by Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) through the University of New England, Australia.
